Equipment

  • Blender: A good-quality blender is essential for blending the strawberries, ice cream, and milk into a smooth, creamy texture.
  • Knife To hull and slice the fresh strawberries if you're using fresh ones.
  • Cutting board For safely preparing the strawberries and any other ingredients.
  • Measuring Cups: To measure the milk and other ingredients like sweeteners or ice cream for accuracy.
  • Spoon or Spatula To scoop the ice cream into the blender.
  • Glass To serve the milkshake in, ideally chilled for a cooler experience.
  • Straw (Optional) For sipping the milkshake once it's ready.
  • Whisk or Handheld Mixer (Optional, if you’re making whipped cream)If you choose to top the milkshake with homemade whipped cream, you’ll need a whisk or mixer to whip the cream to the desired texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ Cup Fresh Strawberries (or Frozen Strawberries)
  • 1 Cup Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Sweetener (Optional)
  • ½ Cup Ice (Optional)
  • Whipped Cream (Optional, for Garnish) – As desired
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Strawberry Syrup (Optional, for Garnish)
  • Fresh Strawberry Slices (Optional, for Garnish) – A few slices for decoration

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberries:
If using fresh strawberries, wash and hull them. If using frozen strawberries, measure out the frozen berries. Both fresh and frozen strawberries should be around 1 to 1 ½ cups.
  • Blend the Ingredients:
In a blender, add the strawberries, 2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and 1 cup of milk. If you like a sweeter milkshake, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of sweetener (sugar, honey, etc.).
  • Add Ice for Thickness:
For a thicker consistency, add about ½ cup of ice cubes. If using frozen strawberries, this step can be skipped.
  • Blend Until Smooth:
Blend the ingredients on a medium to high setting until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the blender if needed to ensure everything is well-mixed.
  • Serve and Garnish:
Pour the milkshake into chilled glasses. Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of strawberry syrup, and fresh strawberry slices for garnish (optional). Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Sweetness Level: The sweetness of the milkshake can vary based on the ripeness of the strawberries and the type of sweetener used. Always taste the milkshake before serving and adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more sweetener if needed.
  • Consistency: If you prefer a thicker milkshake, use frozen strawberries or add more ice. If you like it thinner, add a little more milk. Adjusting the ratio of milk and ice cream can help achieve your desired texture.
  • Customizations: Feel free to customize the recipe by adding different flavorings (such as vanilla extract), fruits (like banana), or toppings (such as crushed cookies or chocolate drizzle). This recipe is versatile and can be tailored to suit your personal preferences.
  • Dairy-Free Option: For a dairy-free version, substitute the milk with plant-based milk (almond, oat, or coconut milk) and use dairy-free ice cream.
